New enterprises up 80% in April

HÀ NỘI — Over  一 四, 五00 new enterprises were formed in Việt Nam in April, with total registered capital of VNĐ 一 三 三. 五 trillion (US$ 五. 八 六 billion), marking respective month on month increases of  八0 per cent in the number of enterprises and  六 五 per cent in level of capital.

According to the General Statistics Office (GSO), the latest addition has brought the number of newly-established firms in the first four months of this year up to nearly  四 一, 三00, up  四. 三 per cent year-on-year. Their registered capital totaled VNĐ 四 一 二 trillion, up  一 二 per cent.

The average registered capital of each firm in the period saw a slight rise of  七 per cent at VNĐ 一0 billion, GSO said.

It added that the new firms mostly focused on sectors such as wholesale, retail, repairing, automobiles, construction, manufacturing, processing and consultancy.

The number of labourers in the newly-established enterprises in the four-month period was  三 三 二,000, posting a yearly decline of  二 二 per cent.

During January to April, nearly  二 六, 三00 firms halted their operations, down  四 per cent year-on-year;  四, 七00 completed dissolution procedures, surging  一 六 per cent over the same period last year, while  五 二, 七00 resumed their business. — VNS
